Subproject: Intelligent surface system for observation and reference estimation, modular vehicle control

Short Summary:
In turn of the project „Intelligent surface system for observation and reference estimation, modular vehicle control“ the University of Rostock will carry out the following tasks:

  • Conceptual design and development of an autonomously acting Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV), objectives are:
    • Sensor system to estimate accurate position references and to observe the area of operation
    • Telemetry system and data concept to ensure communication through air and water
    • Self-sufficient power supply (vehicle duration: several days)
    • Georeferencing the underwater modules
    • Vehicle automation and control system for autonomous navigation at sea
  • Conceptual design and development of a supervising system to monitor and control the SMIS modules
  • Contribution to the development of the helmstands of the SMIS vehicles
  • Contribution to the definition of missions of the SMIS system and implementation for the SMIS vehicles
  • Development of higher level control systems for the SMIS vehicles
